Packaging Tests
Before a corrosion protection packaging is put into series production, original packaging with original contents are to be subjected to climatic stress, with which the conditions to be expected in-transit are simulated. For this purpose we have six climatic chambers and normally subject the test specimens to the climatic change test DIN EN IEC 60068-2-30 as standard. In our large climatic chambers it is possible to test complete pallets and in the process to apply extremely different climatic regimes. For more than ten years we have recorded humidity and temperature for every conceivable shipping route both in containers and in packagings, and therefore know that our tests correlated with stresses experienced in practice. Our shipments are still accompanied by our measuring instruments and evaluations can be performed and documented on-site by our colleagues, who are members of our world-wide joint venture system.
However, the mechanical stability of packagings also influences corrosion protection. Therefore, we also offer our customers, in co-operation with Fraunhofer AVV, packaging tests such as drop and impact tests, long-term oscillation tests, as well as material tests.
